Egg Chairs

Who does'nt love an egg chair. I have always wanted one but I know my husband or 6'5" brother will try to sit in it and that will be the end of that. I would love to get one to put in my daughters room though. The ones below are my favorite rattan versions.

Rope Shelf DIY

I found this on duitang.com. Yes, I know it's in Japanese but it's very self explanatory. Give it a whirl.

Jason Thielke

Sometimes I wish I could get inside the mind of some of these artists and see where they get their inspiration. These works by Jason Thielke are so original and fresh. I love the mix of architectural elements and beautiful silhouettes.

Board Bling

These are some beautiful fins from Captain Fin Company.  I'm trying to narrow it down to a few on my wish list but that's sooo hard to do. I'm in love.

Artist Admiration

Jeff Yeomans is a southern California artist who specializes in beach culture and urban landscapes. His surf paintings are amazing. A wave can seem so simple to paint but they are actually very difficult to get right. Jeff has definitely figured out how to master it.

Macro Mania

I have always been a fan of macro photography. When I was little we used to get those Highlight magazines, and on the back page were closeups of objects and you had to guess what the object was, that's what these photos remind me of. I found this photographer Janet Little on flicker. She photographs things that most people would walk by and not think twice about. The images she takes from those forgotten objects are breathtaking.

Hello Kitty Birthday Party

My sweet little love has turned 5. Yesterday was her party at our house. I think the saying goes "we make plans and God laughs". A freak tropical storm rolled in the morning of her party ( 2 months early for tropical storms I may add), so the bouncy house was cancelled because of the weather and I scrambled to think of somewhere else to have it because of the expected torrential downpours.Thank God it didn't rain during the party hours and we were able to pull it off at our house. The kids had a blast playing with their Hello Kitty headbands, tattoos and getting a little face paint. It's not to hard to please 5 year olds especially when there are doughnuts involved.

DIY How To:

For the goodie bags:
I used the heavy card stock with glitter in it to jazz it up a little.
The noses I cut out of foam craft sheets.
The bow was foam glitter adhesive sheets I just cut out and stuck on.
Supplies were from Michaels
Headbands:
Dollar store headbands
I used foam craft sheets and superglue.

String Art DIY

Lowe's creative ideas page is full of good ideas. This one is so cool and simple. I will definitely try this with my daughter. There are more complete directions on their site but its pretty self explanatory.

Funny

I saw these signs over on I Rock So What. No matter where you stand on the gay marriage debate maybe you can see the humor . I was laughing so hard I almost spit out my coffee.

Outdoor shower DIY

Who doesn't love to shower outside? This design form Sunset magazine would be an easy shower to build anywhere whether you live near the beach or with no ocean in sight. I love this for washing the kids and dog when they get messy .

Happy Mothers Day!!!

I just want to thank my Mom for all that she has done seen and unseen.
I love you Mom!

These are a few of my favorite pictures of my little buddy and I. I couldn't imagine not being a mother. It's the best thing that has ever happened to me.
