The family and I just got back from our first trip to Hawaii. I was surprised at the beauty and ease of travel. After 15 years of going to Costa Rica for surf it was a refreshing change to see some new sights. We went to Kauai which has a small town feel and and there are chickens everywhere you look. The locals were real friendly and the food was great. I actually didn't even catch a wave while I was there but paddled out a few times. I didn't have my longboard so I didn't feel comfortable on a short board. It was kind of a recon. trip so we can be better prepared next time. We have some friends who have lived there for 5 years and they showed us around so it was nice to have a locals perspective. We will definitely be back.
