I think those of you who surf have a few extra fins lying around and this idea could put them to use. This is a DIY from Debi's Design Diary. She gives detailed instructions. This goes under the why didn't I think of that category. I will definitely be making this one.

Totally Tubular Corn Hole
Here in the South a lot of people love to play corn hole which is a glorified bean bag toss game. I decided to make one of my own ( with the help of my sidekick my Dad) because it looked super easy to build and it was. We followed the dimensions below which I found on the DIY network.
Everyone loves this game and it has been a big hit at our grill sessions.
I just found this great blog called The Hunted Interior. It's full of great DIYs. I'll put it on my blog list for sure. All of the directions are on the link below the image.

Rope Shelf DIY
I found this on duitang.com. Yes, I know it's in Japanese but it's very self explanatory. Give it a whirl.
String Art DIY
Lowe's creative ideas page is full of good ideas. This one is so cool and simple. I will definitely try this with my daughter. There are more complete directions on their site but its pretty self explanatory.
Outdoor shower DIY
Who doesn't love to shower outside? This design form Sunset magazine would be an easy shower to build anywhere whether you live near the beach or with no ocean in sight. I love this for washing the kids and dog when they get messy .
Kiddie Craft Freebie
My daughter is a wiz at memory. She would love to have this popsicle version I found over on Eat drink Chic. How adorable is this! She has the download link and full instructions on her site. I think a really cute way to use these would be as a garland for a party too.Let the games begin!!
Wings DIY
This is just the cutest thing ever. I saw it on Pinterest. I found the original creator here on her blog called llevoel invierno. Yes, it's in spanish. So you can either wing it, (no pun intended) or get a translator. Best of luck! I'm going to give it a try myself.
Beach Craft
A good friend of mine came up with this idea to entertain the kids on the beach a few weekends ago. All we needed was plaster of paris and shells to decorate. You could do the hand print idea too for Mother's Day. My daughter had a lot of fun and loves to show everyone what she made. One tip is that if you are doing the shell version is to push the shells down in the sand before pouring on the plaster. You could do a lot of versions of this craft. Give it a try!!
Earth Week DIY
This DIY comes from Make it and Love it which is full of great ideas by the way. If you have a young child you probably have these laying around in the bathroom or recycle bin right now. I don't know how many times we have had guests over and they need to charge their cell phone and they have to put it on the floor next to a plug. This DIY solves that, in a stylish way I might add. This is the best use for trash I have ever seen! You can read the step by step directions here.
Birthday Party Idea
Birthday season is back. It always seems like there are a million birthday parties to attend in the summertime. I'm trying to come up with a theme for my daughters 5th party coming up next month. I painted these photo props for my daughters mermaid party last year and it went over well. I simply painted them on foam core and cut out a face hole. You could do a lot with this idea for princess, monster, or hula parties. The kids had a blast and they decorated a frame to put their photo in and take home as a party favor.
Cardboard Chandelier DIY
In honor of Earth Day coming up I thought I would highlight a few trash to treasure DIY's. This one I saw over on Etsy and was created by Kayte Terry of This is Love Forever for a book called Paper Made. How cute would this be in a bright color like fuschia or turquoise in a kids room. Find the step by step instructions and template here.
Planter DIY
I don't know about you but spring make s me want to get started sprucing up the yard. These two DIY projects are cheap and easy to do. Click on the links for full instructions.

Why didn't I think of that?
This is a great DIY for a damaged or a just boring pair of flats or heels. I'm going to try this on my daughters shoes that always get ruined quickly on the playground. All the info can be found on Made In Pretoria.
DIY Wall
When I saw this beautiful wall over at Design Sponge I fell in l0ve. What great idea for covering a ugly wall or adding texture and pattern to an accent wall. I'm going to keep this one ready for my next house.
